De Pere Holds Public Input Session on Pool Design

Local News

Monday, De Pere’s public was able to comment on the future of two area pools.

In November voters said yes to a referendum to build a new VFW pool and another at Legion Park.

The city wanted to hear people’s thoughts on new pool designs.

At Monday’s public forum many parents said they wanted to see more shaded areas around the pools.

The city says they want to repair the VFW pool before any updates are made.

“We’ve run a little bit of a time crunch in the sense that this pool will not open until we build a new one,” says De Pere alderman Larry Lueck. “So we kind of need to get really moving on this quickly so we don’t have that area sitting unused for a couple of years.”

The Board of Park Commissioners will present the feedback they received to a consultant who will then come up with the pools’ new design.

Those designs will be presented at a future board meeting for the public to see.
