Demonstrations show rural road safety and risks of being in a hurry

Local News

ONEIDA, Wis. (WFRV) — While you’re out and about, you may have been noticing more tractors and large farm equipment on the road as the fieldwork season begins.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau held demonstrations near a farm in Oneida Friday afternoon. On a closed road, a simulation showed the dangers that exist when drivers try to illegally pass in a no passing zone – or are simply in a hurry.

Drivers are urged to take some extra time on rural roads if they know they may encounter some slow moving vehicles.

Last year alone there were 175 crashes involving farm equipment.
