City offices will close early Monday for firefighter visitation

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) -- City offices will be closing early Monday to allow staff to attend the visitation for Firefighter Mitchell Lundgaard.
According to Mayor Hanna, all non-essential City Hall offices will close Monday at 2:30 p.m.
“This has been a trying few days for our departments and our community,” said Mayor Tim Hanna. “As an organization we value our employees and we want to allow our them the opportunity to pay their respects.”
City facilities will be open regular hours on Tuesday.

The Fox Cities community has wrapped its arms around the family of fallen firefighter Mitch Lundgaard.
Lundgaard was a husband and father of three.
A small memorial has been set up at Fire Station 1 in Appleton.
Some residents have been visiting the memorial in silent reflection while others have been laying flowers.

Some church leaders are holding prayer vigils to honor Firefighter Lungaard.
