“Drive for a Cure” to raise money for Breast Cancer research

Local News

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and a local business is giving you a chance to help raise money for the cause, and try out a new car.

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, a special fleet of 100 Bergstrom vehicles will be available to test drive at Bergstrom Automotive in Appleton.

For each mile driven, Bergstrom will donate $1 to breast cancer research at the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Center.

Breast cancer is a leading cause of death in women, and one out of eight women will be diagnosed with the disease.

For the weekend’s events, no advance registration is necessary, but drivers must be 21 years or older, and have a valid driver’s license.

There will be free food and refreshments, and participants will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Raffle items will also be available, including autographed Packers merchandise.

For those who can’t make it Friday, Bergstrom Automotive in Oshkosh will host the same event Saturday.
