EAA Air Venture kicks off another year in Oshkosh

EAA Air Venture is one of the signature events of the summer in northeast Wisconsin bring people from all over the world.

With thousands of airplanes and hundreds of thousands of people expected to come to the Oshkosh area, Air Venture provides a big economic boost while entertaining aviators for an entire week.

The event officially kicks off on Monday, however many people have already made their way to the grounds to set up camp and prepare for this year event that will have nightly air shows, a concert on Monday by the Bare Naked Ladies, the Blue Angels and a reunion with the Apollo astronauts.

Visitors are expected to bring $110 million to the area with 70 percent of the people coming from out of state, today Local 5 met people from Arizona, Ohio and Missouri.

Many of these people are excited to camp out for a week next to their airplanes, many of which they built themselves.
