Various Earth Day events were held throughout Green Bay on Sunday.
Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary held its annual celebration Sunday.
Attendees got to enjoy a day in nature surrounded by wildlife.
The event consisted of their most popular animal programs and ended with the release of a barred owl that has been rehabbing at the sanctuary for the last few weeks.
Organizers of the event say it’s a great way for animals to enjoy the animals and the outdoors.
Meanwhile people got to celebrate Earth Day by participating in a water walk at the Mauthe Center near the UW-Green Bay campus.
The walk was followed by a celebration pot luck feast and guest speakers.
Attendees also got to learn more about how to help keep the earth healthy by planting your own plants, recycling, picking up litter and why it’s so important to be educated on this topic.
Activities like this are held regularly and organizers invite people to participate in them all year round.
