GREEN BAY, Wis (WFRV)
After 16 years, the City of Green Bay has a new Mayor.
Mayor Eric Genrich was sworn in at the Brown County Courthouse Tuesday afternoon in a joint swearing-in ceremony with Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach.
In his speech, Genrich said he's excited to work with this fellow elected officials to bring the community together.
"I really enjoyed also the opportunity to have a joint swearing-in ceremony with County Executive Streckenbach, really to make that commitment that we are going to be working together in a really positive fashion to move the entire region forward."
Genrich served three terms in Wisconsin's Assembly as a Democrat representing Green Bay.
Earlier in April, he defeated Patrick Buckley 58% to 42% in the election.
Streckenbach was sworn in for his third term.
