Hi, this is Local Five News Anchor Erin Davisson.
You might have noticed that I have been missing from the anchor desk for a couple of weeks.  I was on a Holiday Vacations trip on the Blue Danube river with about 35 Local Five News viewers. We visited Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.
Here are a few photos of our trip.
We started our adventures in Prague in the Czech Republic – what used to be Czechoslovakia. This is the old town square.
We traveled aboard the Amadeus Silver – a very comfortable way to travel the Blue Danube river through Europe. It holds about 150 passengers.
Amazing food every day  – and lots of apple strudel – a specialty there.
We saw several castles – this is an Austrian castle seen from the river.
This is the view of Cezky Krumlov from the castle.
And we saw churches – this is St. Stephens Cathedral in Passau, Germany.
In Vienna – we saw the Schonbrun Palace in Vienna, Austria.
Our last stop was Budapest, Hungary –  a city that is just spectacular at night. This is the Parliament building seen during our illumination tour.
This is the same building during the day.
And we ended our trip with a gypsy dinner in Budapest — yes, she is balancing wine on her head while dancing.
A big thank you to everyone who came along – we made great memories with some really wonderful folks.   Of course – this is just a few of the photos – still sorting through all 500 plus.
Thanks also to you,  Tom,  for taking care of business while I was away. If you are interested in taking this Holiday Vacations trip of the Blue Danube River, you can find more information at their website.
And if you’d like to travel with my husband, Mike and I on our next trip, we are going to Hawaii in March of 2019. More information can be found on the Holiday Vacations website – just put in keyword WFRV.
