A family is out of their home following an early morning fire in Door County.
Fire crews were called to the home on County DK in the Town of Union at 3:48 Saturday morning.
The Brussels, Union, Gardner Fire Department Chief, Curt Vandertie tells Local 5 three of the five family members were home at the time.
The father and two young girls were able to make it out of the home safely- there were no injuries.
When crews arrived fire was shooting out from the house with a lot of smoke coming from the structure.
The Chief says the house sustained significant damage and is unlivable.
The Chief says the family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
The Chief says there were no working smoke detectors in the home and they were lucky they smelled smoke and woke up.
Officials believe the fire started in the laundry room but the exact cause is under investigation.
Five fire departments responded to the blaze.
