If you’re curious about learning more about where your food comes from, you can bet the farm that the brand new Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center is the place to come.
The education center is having its grand opening in Manitowoc this weekend. It features 10,000 square feet of educational experiences related to agriculture in Wisconsin.
“I think anybody would find it interesting that wants to know anything about agriculture,” said Cheryl Dahm, who hails from a farming family. “There’s a lot of information in here that I feel you could bring any kid in, and they can spend hours.”
There’s also a birthing barn, where it’s expected that 2 to 5 calves will be born each day inside the center, and visitors are able to watch.
“You can see the miracle of life right in front of you, which is truly amazing,” said Melissa Bender, Director of Education & Programming.
The center is in Manitowoc, but positioned where Wisconsinites from all around have easy access.
“We’re right of off I-43, an hour away from Green Bay, an hour from Milwaukee, and really an hour from Fox Valley,” Bender said. “We really want everybody to learn about Wisconsin agriculture.”
The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center’s grand opening continues throughout the weekend, before normal hours start on Monday, from 10 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week.
