FdL Police Arrest Two Californians in Skimming Investigation

Suspects may be connected to Romanian crime ring

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) - Fond du Lac Police have arrested two men from California in connection to multiple credit card skimming incidents in the city.

At around 5:15 a.m. on Sunday, police received a call regarding suspicious behavior at an ATM at the Marine Credit Union on W. Rees St. After a brief foot chase, officers arrested a 26-year-old man and a 35-year-old man who were both Romanian immigrants from Anaheim, California. After searching their vehicle, police found 137 forged or cloned credit cars and around $7,500 in cash.

The Fond du Lac Police Department is now working closely with the U.S. Secret Service and the Oshkosh Police Department and now believe that the two men are part of a Romanian organized crime ring looking to steal debit and credit card information.

The two men are now in Fond du Lac County Jail awaiting formal charges.
