The Appleton Fire Department was dispatched to an industrial waste compactor fire on Lawe Street Thursday, December 6th around 8:15 am.
When the crew arrived, they confirmed there was smoke coming from the compactor and that it was next to the building, but the fire did not spread to the building.
Appleton Public Works also helped in removing the industrial waste so the fire could be put out.
The cause of the fire has not been determined and no significant damage was made to the compactor.
