Fire Crews Respond to Fire at Glass Monkey on East Mason, No Injuries Reported

Local News

Fire crews responded to a structure fire in the 1200th block of East Mason in Green Bay just after 7:00 p.m. Monday night.

Officials say the fire began in the attic of the Glass Monkey Smoke Shop which is a two story building.

They do not know yet what started the fire, but inspectors are still  investigating a cause.

Oo one was hurt, but the building did sustain some damage.

“Most of the ceiling is getting pulled in, that second floor, we’re pulling all the insulation out of there, so the upstairs for sure is uninhabitable,” says Green Bay Metro Fire battalion chief Drew Spielman.

The building’s tenants were home at the time the fire started, but were evacuated safely along with their pets.
