At least fifteen people are displaced from their apartments after a fire broke out in the basement of the Green Meadows Village on Monday evening in Green Bay.
Fire crews were called to the scene at 7:44 p.m.
Officials say that only one person was in the building at the time, but that person did not evacuate until fire crews told them to leave.
The fire was mostly contained to the basement of the building at 2014 Vine Street.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire; it has not been ruled suspicious.
Residents of Green Meadows said the basement of the building has washers and dryers.
The building is equipped with smoke alarms that went off during the fire, but it does not have sprinklers.
The Red Cross will help the fifteen displaced residents find temporary places to stay.
There were no injuries.
