Fire in Omro Forces Family From Home

Local News

A family in Omro has safely evacuated after their home caught on fire.

Chief Jay Treleven with the Omro Rushford Volunteer Fire Department says the call came in at just after 10:00 p.m. Thursday night at a home on Alida Lane.

Treleven says smoke and flames were visible once crews arrived and the home was fully involved. The fire was discovered in the garage and spread to the home. The garage is a total loss.

Fire officials say weather conditions weren’t favorable but none of the equipment froze up.

Luckily, nobody was injured. Crews say they left the scene at around 2:30 Friday morning.

The cause is still under investigation.
