SUAMICO, Wis. (WFRV) - Fire crews were called to a house fire on Blackberry Lane Monday afternoon after officials say a woman walking her dog saw smoke.
"A neighbor...was walking her dog, saw smoke coming from the residence, and could hear fire alarms going off," Suamico Fire Chief Troy Noe said. "She immediately called 911 and we were dispatched."
Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames visable through the roof.
"Pretty much in a house like this it's all cathedral ceiling,"Chief Noe said. "When the fire got going it got up on the top and it ran the whole length of the house, nothing to stop it, so she was pretty well involved when we got here."
Intially, crews from Suamico, Pulaski, and Howard were dispatched, but Green Bay Fire and other agencies were called in after first responders assessed the situation.
Crews had to truck in water due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area.
Nobody was home at the time of the fire and there are no reported injuries.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
