GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Six Green Bay residents, including three children, were removed from their home on Thursday after a fire.
According to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department (GBMFD), just after 11 a.m. crews responded to a home located on the 1100 block of South Broadway Street for reports of a fire.
Upon arrival, officials say they found a single-family home with ‘heavy fire conditions.’
GBMFD notes that the situation quickly escalated when the fire gained control of the entire home forcing firefighters to take a defensive posture.
After about 50 minutes, the fire was reportedly under control.
A total of six people lived in the home, including three children.
Of these six residents, two were injured during the incident. One of the residents was treated and released at the scene while the other resident was taken to a local hospital.
All residents have been removed from the home due to extensive damage caused by the fire. Officials estimate the fire caused around $80,000 worth of damage.
The fire is reported to have started in one of the bedrooms of the home. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time. Local 5 will continue to update this story as it progresses.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – One person has been confirmed injured during the Green Bay house fire on Thursday morning.
According to Green Bay Metro Fire Department (GBMFD), one person was injured during the fire that ignited at a home located at the 1100 block of South Broadway.
The severity of the injuries is unknown at this time. All other occupants have reportedly been accounted for.
WPS is on the scene working to shut off the power to make the scene of the fire safer for crews.
GBMFD crews have reportedly gotten the fire under control.

Original Story: Firefighters respond to active Green Bay house fire, avoid area

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Green Bay Metro Fire Department is responding to an incident near the city’s west side.
Just after 11 a.m., officials responded to the 1100 block of South Broadway for reports of a house fire.
Green Bay Police Department is asking drivers to avoid the area. Travelers that cannot avoid the area will be detoured at Broadway/8th Street and Broadway/5th Street.
Additionally, officers are asking that large trucks and semis find other routes since the detours are likely to bring them through residential areas.
