Local News

The Forest County District Attorney has determined that the use of force by a Crandon Police Officer that resulted in the death of Dexter Baxter was justified.

On Tuesday, The Wisconsin Department of Justice released  dash cam video of the October 22 incident.

It happened at around 10:30 p.m.during a traffic stop that was a part of a theft investigation.

Police say a struggle occurred, that ended when Officer Ryan Wilson shot Baxter three times.

Baxter was then transported to a Rhinelander hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
