Gerrymandering was the topic at Tuesday night’s Fair Maps Supper & Town Hall.
More than a dozen groups are demanding fair elections in Wisconsin by eliminating gerrymandering, which is a process in which political parties draw election maps that would favor their own candidates.
Tuesday’s featured speaker was Bill Whitford, who is the named plaintiff in Wisconsin’s current redistricting case in the Supreme Court. Whitford discussed what he and the other plaintiffs hope to accomplish in their case.
Meanwhile, Governor Tony Evers has announced plans to enact a nonpartisan redistricting process as part of his proposed state budget.
