Governor Evers Delivers State of the State Address

Tony Evers gave his first State of the State address as a Governor to the Wisconsin people this evening. 

In his speech, the Governor called for Bipartianship and for Republicans to consider the budget he proposes. 

He also talked about funding public schools, expanding medicaid, and announced that he’l’ be asking Attorney General Josh Kaul to get Wisconsin out of the lawsuit that would defeat the Affordable Care Act:

 I’ve said it all along, I believe the best way to maintain protections for healthcare here in Wisconsin is to stop trying to dismantle those protections at the federal level.”

Another major highlight of the speech was water. 

Ever’s promised to clear up lead pipes and clean up the state’s drinking water.

Governor Evers will present his version of the state budget on February 28th.
