ASHWAUBENON, Wis. – Governor Scott Walker stopped in Ashwaubenon on Thursday to promote the child sales tax rebate and to comment on the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida.
Governor Walker stated that his prayers go out to everyone involved in the horrific incident and that changes are coming to schools in the state in hopes of making them safer for students.
“Here in the state of Wisconsin, we don’t take things like this lightly.” Walker stated. “We work in the past, we’ll continue to going forward, with Brad Schimel our attorney general, law enforcement at the state, local, and federal level.”
Just this past year, Walker has put in millions of dollars into mental health services, which will help combat the rise of mental illness within school districts.
