GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation has been awarded two large gifts which will have a dramatic impact on the community.

The gifts equal a combined total of over $21 million. The Heim Estate Awards granted the Foundation more than $16.5 million, while an anonymous donor provided $5 million.

Ron C. and Pauline P. Heim supported a number of local nonprofits throughout their lives, according to the Foundation.

As a planned gift, the Heim Charitable Fund is projected to provide over $800,000 each year.

The Foundation has big goals for the Heim Charitable Fund, including support for more than 30 nonprofit organizations.

These organizations will serve causes from animal welfare and K-9 units to the environment, education hunger, and homelessness.

Dennis Buehler, President and CEO of the Foundation, says,

“We are humbled by the generosity of the Heims’ gift to our community. Through careful planning with their estate attorney, they ensured the impact of their gift will be felt today, as well as by every future generation of this community.”
