Green Bay area program geared towards helping young women achieve careers in STEM industry

Local News

The Green Bay Area Public School District is helping young women know they “can” have careers in the science, technology, engineering, and math industries.

The GBAPS has invited local girls and adults to participate in a free workshop series called “This Girl Can.” This is the second time this year the district has offered the workshop. The event also explores non-typical female careers in the areas of manufacturing, computer science, and technology.

The workshop is also focused on Information Technology and Fashion Design. Those in attendance will learn how computer science and technology are used in the fashion world, while even building fashion-themed programs.

The workshop will be held at Preble High School in Room 145 on April 10, 12, and 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The session is aimed for female students in grades 6, 7, 8, or 9 and their mothers, grandmothers, older sisters, aunts, or female mentors. Registration is closed at this time.
