GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Police Department has given an update regarding the downed power pole on Velp Avenue in Green Bay.
According to officers, traffic flow is back to normal in the 1300 block of Velp Avenue, and drivers are now able to utilize both lanes of travel in each direction.
This follows a late morning traffic accident that caused a complete closure due to a knocked-down power pole, causing wires to cross the roadway.
“We appreciate the patience of drivers that had to detour during the closure,” said Jennifer Gonzalez, Communications Coordinator with the Green Bay Police Department.

One lane opened each direction on Velp Avenue, WPS crews still working in Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The Green Bay Police Department has provided an update on the downed power pole on Velp Avenue.
According to officers, one lane is now open in each direction, and motorists are able to pass through on Velp Avenue.
Crews with WPS are still working to remove all the wires out of the roadway, but one lane is open in each direction.
Police are expecting this immediate area to be fully open by 5:00 p.m.
Green Bay Police put up barricades on Velp Avenue, power lines on the roadway

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – A knocked-down power pole on Velp Avenue has caused police to put up barricades and ask drivers to use different routes for the time being.
According to the Green Bay Police Department, drivers should avoid the area of the 1300 block of Velp Avenue. There was reportedly a traffic incident that resulted in the knocking down of a power pole.
Wires reportedly crossed the roadway, and police put barricades up. WPS is reportedly on the scene to assist.
Officials say that drivers should use alternate routes until 2:45 p.m. There was no information on if there were any injuries.
