If you use Craigslist and are looking to rent a new place, be aware of rental scams.

The Green Bay Police Department posted to their Facebook page warning people of reports of a Craigslist rental scam.

Scammers are using photos stolen from legitimate website, including using photos of homes posted for sale, and post the rental ads using the stolen photos.

Scammers then ask you to fill out a rental application and deposit money.

It’s important to note, if the person refuses to meet you in person and allow you to view the inside of the property first, do not send them money.
