Green Bay’s “Walk with the Mayor” Kicks off Tuesday

Local News

Mayor Jim Schmitt will be walking 1.5 miles today in the city’s fourth annual “Move with the Mayor.”

Green Bay is one of 11 U.S. cities participating in the walks, which raises awareness of heart disease prevention. Research has found that walking as little as 30 minutes a day can significantly cut the risk of heart disease.

Schmitt, along with Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy and other local celebrities, will begin to walk from city hall shortly before noon.

All are welcome to join Mayor Schmitt every Tuesday throughout the month of September.
