Everyone was able to escape from a burning home early Thursday morning in Green Lake.

Around 3:30 a.m. crews received a 911 call of a residential structure fire at 471 Meadowlark Lane. Those living in the home were able to escape, but were taken to Ripon Hospital because of heavy smoke. The person from the other unit was not home at the time and police say was located a short time later.

The Green Lake Police Department tells Local 5 one firefighter was taken to the hospital for exhaustion-type symptoms and is expected to be okay. One Green Lake City Police Officer was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.

Both units sustained heavy damage because of the fire and officials say the scene remains under investigation at this time.
