Gun fired in Oshkosh Walmart parking lot

WFRV-- On Thursday at approximately 6:11 PM officers from the Oshkosh Police Department responded to a report of a single gunshot at Wal-Mart, 351 S Washburn St, in the City of Oshkosh.

Once officers arrived on the scene it was determined that an individual had discharged a firearm in the parking lot of Wal-Mart, with the bullet striking the ground. The individual who fired the gun then fled Wal-Mart in a vehicle. At Approximately 6:13 PM an Oshkosh Police Officer observed the suspect vehicle traveling eastbound on Hwy 21 near Koeller St in the City of Oshkosh.

This officer attempted to stop the vehicle, and the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. The Oshkosh PoliceDepartment did not pursue this vehicle. Nobody was injured in this incident. Officers are stillattempting to locate the individual(s) involved, but have determined there is no active threat to the community.

The incident remains under investigation.
