GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – More information has been released regarding the fire on the 700 block of Irvington Street in the City of Green Bay.

According to the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, fire crews were sent to the structure around 3:45 p.m., and upon arrival, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the second story of the two-family home.

An aggressive fire attack by the first crews extinguished the flames in around ten minutes and limited the extension of the structure to the second floor. The home was vented of smoke and checked for further fire extension before crews left the scene.

Two adults and one dog are being assisted by the Red Cross. Fire officials estimate the incident caused around $60,000 and are still under investigation at this time.

The Green Bay Metro Fire Department was assisted by the Green Bay Police Department, Brown County Public Safety Communications Center, City of Green Bay Public Works, WPS, and the American Red Cross.
