HOBART, Wis. (WFRV) – The suspect in Wednesday’s domestic situation in Hobart has died, according to Hobart Lawrence Police Department.

On Thursday morning, the department announced that the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Jeffery Patnode, died in the hospital after he was found by authorities with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Wednesday.

Police explain the incident started on Wednesday morning when they responded to a home located at the 700 block Centerline Drive for a report of a domestic disturbance.

The report had come from Patnode’s 25-year-old girlfriend who told police that Patnode was threatening to kill her.

The woman added that Patnode had fired a round off using his handgun, but fortunately, she was able to leave the residence with minor injuries from the disturbance.

Authorities say during their response, they attempted to contact Patnode, to no avail.

The situation then became a largescale law enforcement incident that was resolved later in the day when Patnode was eventually located in a wooded area with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Patnode was taken to the hospital where he later was pronounced dead.

HOBART, Wis. (WFRV) – The ongoing incident in Hobart has been stabilized according to the Hobart/Lawrence Police Department.

In a Facebook post, they say that the incident near Centennial Centre Blvd is stabilized and it was an isolated incident. Local 5 spoke to Brown County Sheriff Todd Delain who said they realized the suspect was not in the home and they used a drone to find him. The suspect, who has not been named, was found in a wooded area near the apartment complex with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

He was taken to the hospital but his condition is unknown at this time.

There is no threat to the public.

HOBART, Wis. (WFRV) – An active situation in Hobart is still ongoing, and authorities say that the incident is domestic-related.

According to officials, the incident is a domestic situation. The man involved in the situation is still barricaded inside. He reportedly has access to weapons.

Authorities still have not made contact with the man.

A woman reportedly has an injury, but it is not from a gunshot. Local 5 was able to speak with Hobart’s Police Chief.

HOBART, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities are working on an active situation in Hobart near the Emerald Bay Retirement Community.

According to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, the active situation is on Centerline Drive in Hobart. While there was no specific mention of where the incident is happening on Centerline Drive, there are multiple businesses on the road.

EMT International and Fabrication Express are two businesses on Centerline Drive.

Emerald Bay Retirement Community is also nearby.
