Michael Hirn, one of six men convicted of killing paper worker Tom Monfils will be released from prison this month after receiving parole.

He has been in prison for 24 years in connection with the death of Mofils and was one of the so called “Monfils Six.”

The case drew national attention at the time when court documents show Hirn and five others confronted Monfils after he reported a theft from a paper mill. His body was discovered in a pulp vat.

Three others convicted in the case remain in prison.
