'Spirit of the Holidays, A Celebration of Dance' is Dec. 2 in Green Bay

(WFRV) GREEN BAY, Wis. - The season of giving is upon us and that also means holiday entertainment.  Barb's Center for Dance invites you to take part in both Saturday, December 2 for their annual "Spirit of the Holidays, A Celebration of Dance."

Owner of Barb’s Centre for Dance Barb Cedergren and Colton's Cure founder Tara Steinhorst joined Brittany Falkers on Local 5 This Morning for a preview of the holiday dance spectacular.

This is the 19th annual “Spirit of the Holidays, A Celebration of Dance.”

“Spirit of the Holidays, A Celebration of Dance" will be held on Saturday, December 2, 201, at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., at the beautiful Meyer Theatre.

The 5th annual Fox Valley show will be held Saturday, December 16th at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at Xavier Fine Arts Theatre.

"As is tradition, all profits generated by the shows and silent auction are donated to local charities. Our total charitable contribution from last year’s Green Bay and Fox Valley locations was $30,377. During the past 18 years the combined shows have raised over $245,000 for local charitable organizations," Cedergren said.

This year, again, the Green Bay show will benefit three local organization including Colton's Cure. That money will go back to Wisconsin families battling childhood cancer.
The holiday shows feature dance ensembles along with our competition dance troupes, lines, and teams. These young dancers will perform original tap, jazz, lyrical, and Ballet works to both traditional and contemporary holiday music, according to Cedergren.

"The second half of our Green Bay show features our favorite excerpts from The Nutcracker Suite along with more of the holiday songs you love. Our Fox Valley uses the whole second half to perform a traditional Nutcracker story," Cedergren said.
