A taste of Appleton’s Mile of Music is coming to Green Bay this weekend. The Homeland Experience is your chance to see original music from many genres at different venues around the city.
Executive Director of the Refuge Foundation for the Arts Ryan Romenesko and artist Alex Ortega stopped by Local 5 This Morning Thursday with a live musical performance and for more on this new music festival.
Homeland Experience, presented by Fox Communities Credit Union, is an all-ages event taking place in Green Bays Downtown and On Broadway Districts on September 15 and 16.
It will feature musicians and visual artists from all over the world.
“Home, and the concept of a homeland, means something different to everybody. It is our hope that our event is one of compassion and inclusion, and allows the artists and community alike to come out and celebrate our own versions of home, good or bad,” Romenesko said.
Alex Ortega is one of the many artists who will perform at the Homeland Experience. He is from New York, New York and is perhaps best known as the Musical Director for the Broadway at the W Concert Series at the W Hotel in Times Square.
While holding this title, he has performed with cast members of 22 different Broadway casts, including the casts of Hamilton, Motown: The Musical, and The Lion King. In addition, Alex performed at Mile of Music this year with Daniel Watts, a world-renown singer/dancer/actor.
See live performances at Keggers, The Neville Public Museum, the Brown County Library, Cup O Joy, Kavarna, Three Three Five, Black and Tan Lounge, and Homeland Gallery.
