Neighbors in a subdivision near Appleton North High School were plagued with a number of extremely loud detonations occurring mostly in the evening.

Recently, in the early morning of Sunday, a home in the 1300 block of Wyndmere Drive was the target of damage involving a homemade explosive device.

The device, made in part from what appears to be a prescription pill bottle, exploded, damaging the front door of a residence as well as a lawn ornament near the front porch.

Parents are urged to look for indicators that youth may be creating such devices.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or others like it are urged to call the Appleton Police Department at (920) 832-5500.

This case continues to be under investigation.
