The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of a stolen ice shanty on Lake Winnebago Wednesday evening.

They say the galvanized metal shanty was taken between 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. near Franklin Avenue – which is the southwest shoreline of the lake near north Fond du Lac.

They say the shanty has a small, black solar panel mounted to the side of it, a black roof, a black door trim, and a propane cylinder mounted to the wall next to the door.

The sheriff’s office says a witness told them they may have seen it being towed northbound on Van Dyne Road around 5:30 p.m.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office.
