Wisconsin native and Houston Texans Defensive End J.J. Watt received one of the hightest honors football has to offer. 

Watt is the 2017 Walter Payton Man of the year award winner. 

Watt’s foundation helped raise 37 million dollars for Hurricane Harvey relief. 

Watt accepted the award by telling the audience at the NFL Honors Awards show, hiw work is more of a team effort within the community. 

The man of the year award goes to players who have shown excellence on and off the field. 

Its namesake, Walter Payton, played thirteen season for the Chicago Bears and passed away in 1999.
