Kiel bicyclist dies after being hit by a car

TOWN OF MEEME, Wis. (WFRV) — Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department says a bicyclist has died after being hit by a car.

On Monday, April 8th just before 3:45 p.m. deputies and EMS personnel responded to a vehicle vs. bicyclist crash on County Road XX between Herr Rd and Pioneer Rd in the Township of Meeme.

Investigators say 27-year-old Brittni Joy Diedrich of Manitowoc was driving eastbound on CR XX when she collided with 68-year-old bicyclist Robert Keith Hughes from Kiel.

Hughes was transported to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah by ThedaStar where he later died.

Deputies say the crash remains under investigation.
