ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) – More details have been released on the Shell Gas Station standoff that saw multiple law enforcement officers, including a Bearcat, respond to the scene.

Local 5’s Timothy Littau and Paul Steeno were on the scene, where they caught up with Captain Clint Beguhn, who said the incident started all the way back at around 8:00 a.m. on the 400 block of Jackson Street in the City of Green Bay.

When officers arrived on the scene of the domestic violence incident, they found a 23-year-old female victim from Green Bay with a few injuries. She was transported to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. Beguhn stated that the suspect, identified as a 24-year-old Ashwaubenon resident, had allegedly left the location.

Throughout the day, the Green Bay Police Department learned information about where the suspect might have been, and after locating the suspect in a vehicle, they initiated a traffic stop.

The vehicle complied and pulled over, but the suspect had been in the back of the vehicle and was uncooperative with police. Beguhn said that the suspect allegedly made comments earlier in the day that he “was willing to shoot it out with police.”

Law enforcement surrounded the vehicle and closed down nearby roads, including Lombardi Avenue. SWAT and Crisis Teams both showed up to the incident to help at the request of the Green Bay Police Department.

“We were able to successfully negotiate with the suspect,” said Beguhn. “He came out and surrendered to police just before 7:00 p.m.”

The Green Bay Police Department says it will be referring numerous charges after the incident, and they are continuing to investigate.
