KIMBERLY, Wis. (WFRV) — Police and Fire personnel from around Wisconsin and Minnesota spent the day on the Fox River in Kimberly for specialized training on recently acquired sonar equipment.
The agencies will be learning new skills for their boat patrol operations including boat sonar operations and search patterns and techniques.
The new equipment is designed to help reduce the amount of time dive teams need to spend in the water searching for submerged items.
The week-long training began with classroom training before moving to hands-on training with equipment.
The agencies are from Beaver Dam, Portage County, the Wisconsin DNR, Winnebago County, Wautoma, La Crosse, and Anoka County, Minnesota.
