Local vigils are being held to mourn and pay respect to the victims of the Orlando shooting. 

On Tuesday at 7 p.m., an LGBTQ vigil will be held at Rascals Bar located at 702 East Wisconsin Avenue. This vigil will be held by the Fox Valley LGBTQ Anti-Violence Project and Rascals. There will be music, a candlelight vigil and a moment of silence. For more information on this vigil, click here

In De Pere, the Norbertine Community of St. Norbert Abbey is hosting a candlelight vigil for those touched by the Orlando tragedy and for an end to violence in the nation and in the world. The vigil is Wednesday, June 15, 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the St. Norbert Abbey Church, 1016 N. Broadway, De Pere. This ecumenical gathering offers an opportunity to come together in silence, music and prayer.

On Thursday at 7:30 p.m., a candlelight vigil will be held at DarJune located at 1301 South Broadway. This vigil will be held by Humanist Pride Society. You are asked to bring a candle to this vigil. For more information, click here.

A youth-led vigil will be held in memory of the Orlando victims on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the Goodwill Community Campus, 1800 Appleton Road. The event was developed with the coordinators of the Rascals event and was suggested by young members of the Fox Valley’s LGBT community as an alternative memorial event for people under 21 years of age. The event will be hosted by the LGBT Partnership, a program of Goodwill NCW that provides leadership development and support groups for youth (14-18) who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, questioning or allied.
