Native Americans in Northeastern Wisconsin express concerns over the new developments on the Dakota Access Pipeline.
The Oneida Nation has been vocal about their support for Standing Rock and the fight for clean water. President Trump’s opposition to Standing Rock worries many members of Oneida Nation.
This new concern comes after President Trump  put his support for the Dakota Access Pipeline into writing Tuesday.
“We always had some concerns about his position on resource extraction and we saw this coming,” Oneida Nations Councilman, Brandon Stevens said.
The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe filed a lawsuit last July against The Army Corps Of Engineers
saying, the pipeline disturbs sacred tribal land and that a potential leak where the pipeline
crosses under the Missouri River and contaminate drinking water.
Stevens says can you get involved with the Standing issue by contacting your local representative.
