Local U.S. Coast Guard Station kicking off National Safe Boating Week with open house

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) — The United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary are kicking off National Safe Boating Week with an open house and multiple other events. 

Starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18th, the U.S. Coast Guard Station along the Metro Boat Launch in Green Bay will be hosting an Open House.

Several rescue and response boats from the Coast Guard and local law enforcement will be on display. 

People are also encouraged to bring their boats to the Metro Boat Launch for a free Vessel Safety check. The check is free, to make sure you and your boat are ready for the season. 

The Open House goes until 3 p.m.

  • National Wear Your Life Jacket to Work Day – May 17th
  • National Safe Boating Week – May 18 – 24th
  • Operation Oshkosh – Free Vessel Safety Exams in Rainbow Park – May 25th
  • USCG AUX Safe Boating Class being offered starting June 27, 2019
