Locals Celebrate Fat Tuesday With the Paczki

Local News
Paczki Day 5:30am hit

It’s Fat Tuesday, which means Wisconsin will be eating plenty of the Polish pastry, Paczki.

Smurawa’s Country Bakery in Pulaski is the place to be as thousands of people show up at the shop every year to get their fill.

The filled doughnuts are made in 18 different flavors like raspberry, poppyseed, french cream, chocolate, peanut butter and more.

Greg Smurawa, Owner of Smurawa’s Country Bakery says it’s more about the customers;

“One, it’s good for the business obviously but more importantly it’s good for us. It’s good for our customers, it’s very special that we share our family recipe, our Polish heritage, our tradition.

This is the 19th year Smurawa’s Country Bakery has celebrated Paczki Day.
