Two people faces charges for allegedly firing a BB gun at a Menards store in Appleton, according to police.
Officers responded to the Menards, located on Express Court, at about 1:46 p.m. Wednesday for the report of a drive-by shooting.
Initial calls indicated a panel of glass, in one of the front doors of the business, had been shot out. No injuries were reported, according to police.
A citizen noticed a U-haul truck, used in the incident, leaving the parking lot. That person then followed the truck to the area of Birch Street and 1st Street in Kimberly. A man and woman exited the vehicle and entered a nearby residence, police said.
Officers from the Appleton Police Department and Fox Valley Metro Police Department responded to the residence and took the individuals into custody without incident.
Interviews of the subjects at the Appleton Police Department clarified the damage was caused by a BB gun and that BB gun was recovered. The individuals involved were upset about being asked to leave the store because of suspicious activity.
Officers are continuing to investigate several aspects of the incident. Charges of Disorderly Conduct and Damage to Property will be referred on the 27-year-old man and 20-year-old woman. Both are residents of the Fox Cities.
