Man Rescued After Driving Car into Fox River

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) -

In a phone call with the Green Bay Police Department, Local 5 has learned the man pulled from a car after driving into the Fox River has died at the hospital.

Police say they will release information on the man after family has been notified.

Police also say an autopsy is planned to determine the cause of death.

Man Rescued After Driving Car into Fox River

A man has been rescued after driving his car into the Fox River.

Around 8:30 a.m. reports came in that a car drove into the river at Metro Boat Launch in Green Bay.

Multiple agencies, including Green Bay Police, Green Bay Dive Team, Green Bay Fire, and the U.S. Coast Guard quickly responded to the incident.

Police say the car, since removed from the river by a tow cable, was in 20 feet of water about 30 feet off-shore.

The victim was safely brought to shore where he was immediately taken to the hospital.

There is no word on the condition or identity of the man.
