Manitowoc family receives the Best Christmas ever

Local News

Christmas cam early for one family in Manitowoc.

The Gonzales family received hundreds of gifts from a non-profit called The Best Christmas Ever.

They were chosen from 51 families that were nominated.

The Gonzales’ recently lost their seven year old daughter Kadenz to a drunk driving accident.

That accident also left their 10-year-old daughter Santana partially paralyzed.

Gifts they received included a free family vacation, gas cards to get Santana to her doctor’s appointments in Milwaukee and money to pay for her service dog’s vet bills.

“I just wish Kadenz was here to enjoy it with us,” says mother Nikkole Gonzales. “I’ve kind of canceled Christmas, told the kids Santa is still coming, but for a mom it’s kind of this is as much as I can do.”

One of the biggest gifts donated by The Best Christmas Ever was a bike specially made for Santana.

One of her favorite things to do with her sister Kadenz was go bike riding.
