17-year-old Andrew Haney made his initial appearance in court and reacted in tears when the judge set a $5,000 cash bond, his next appearance will be on January 8.

Manitowoc Police arrested Haney and recommended charges of armed robbery with force, they believe Haney entered the CVS Pharmacy on Reed Avenue on Tuesday, then threatened an employee with the knife and leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police also arrested two other men during the investigation, a 38-year-old man ibn a bench warrant and another 17-year-old man for violating his parol, police are still investigating if these two individuals had anything to do with the robbery, however the judge ordered Haney to have no contact with both of them.

Police also said that the CVS Pharmacy robbery doesn’t appear to have any connection to the robbery that happened on Christmas at the Shell/Dairy Queen along the Lakeshore.

Police said that both businesses had cameras and that helped them in the arrest of Haney not only identifying the suspect, but also connecting the testimonies of witnesses.

Police ask that if you have any information to contact them regarding both robberies and here’s a link to the Manitowoc Police Department Facebook page where they’ve posted videos from the Shell gas station.
