Sturgeon Bay Voting on Medical and Recreational Marijuana
People living in two Door County communities are voting on advisory referendums relating to the legalization of medical and recreational marijuana.
Sturgeon Bay is looking at both forms of marijuana, two separate questions on the ballot, one for medical and one for recreational marijuana.
Alderperson Kelly Catarozoli of Sturgeon Bay said this about the questions on the ballot;
“We definitely did that for a reason because we would hate to not see something passed for medical use just because people might be afraid of recreational use so hopefully this referendum shows that’s where the people are at and at least for medical use, that they’re open to it.”
However, last year, the Door County Board voted against putting marijuana on the ballot countywide. But 16 counties in the state did pass referendums, 10 for medical, 4 for recreational and 2 for both.
