Meet and Greet the DNR at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Show

Local News

Outdoor enthusiasts have the chance to meet and interact with the Department of Natural Resources staff starting March 6th at the 2019 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Sports Show.

The Show will open Wednesday March 6th and run through Sunday, March 10th at the Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park on 8200 W. Greenfield Ave. in West Allis.

DNR Southeast Region Secretary’s Director Joe Liebau Jr. said the partnership of the agency and sports show dates all the way back to when they were called the Wisconsin Conservation Department:

“It’s been a long and happy engagement, Because the focus of our agency is customer-driven, this is a great opportunity for the public to ask questions and engage with our staff.”

The DNR’s exhibit includes a 600-gallon freshwater tank where visitors can view live bluegills, crappies, perch, largemouth and smallmouth bass.

Conservation wardens will also be on hand to answer questions about fish and game rules and regulations.

Parents will also be able to bring their children to the “Kids Corner”, where they can observe an array of wildlife pelts including beaver, badger, coyote, fox and wolf, along with mammal-themed giveaways.

Guests will able to purchase their hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses through the booth as well.

The hours for the Sports Show is as follows:

  • March 6th-March 8th, Noon to 9 p.m.
  • Saturday March 9th, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Sunday March 10th, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
