Menasha man taken into custody after brief foot chase

Local News

Police say a Menasha man in his mid 20’s with a warrant out for his arrest lead officers on a foot chase Wednesday morning.

It all started at a Motor Mart Gas Station on 3rd Street in Menasha, when the suspect provided an officer with a false name. That officer cleared the suspect, but the man was recognized by another officer a few moments later from prior encounters.

That officer reportedly knew the man had a warrant out against him.

The suspect ran away when officers tried to detain him, leading police on a foot chase for about a block.

The man was found shortly behind a house on the 200 block of Appleton Street.

Officers say he was taken into custody without incident, and that no one was hurt.

There was another foot chase that occurred in Menasha as well Wednesday morning, but police say the two incidents are not related.
